About the Spirit Flute
The flute is an ancient "World" instrument that cultures around the planet have played to lift their spirits, pronounce their love, fill their hearts with courage and express their devotion to the Divine. Modeled after these World Flutes, the Spirit Flute provides an opportunity for all of us to enrich our lives by creating music without having to formally study or be overwhelmed with the idea of practice.
The Spirit Flute's low profile design is suited for outdoor activities, making it an ideal hiking, backpacking and general travel flute.
Spirit Flutes are tuned to major scales (Native flutes are tuned to minor scales) and are available in both pentatonic and diatonic scales. The pentatonic scale flutes have 5 holes and the diatonic scale flutes have 6 holes.
Each wooden flute includes FREE "How to Play" on-line video lessons, fingering charts and many scales that are derived from diatonic and pentatonic scales such as Asian scales, Middle Eastern Scales, Blues scales, Dorian scale, etc.
No musical experience is needed to play the pentatonic flute. This 5-hole instrument has a wonderful voice and is extremely easy to learn. You will be playing within minutes.
The diatonic flute is very versatile, in that it has the voice and characteristics of a Renaissance flute, Keltic flute, Wooden Penny Whistle or Irish flute.
Much like the chromatic flute, all flats and sharps are available on the Spirit Flute.
The Spirit Flute is ideal for "Home Schooling". Because it is so easy to learn, children are motivated and inspired to continue their music education.
Flute Specifications
Spirit Flutes are created in Birch (with Walnut accent inlay) and Walnut (with Birch accent inlay).
Each key is available in the 5-hole pentatonic scale and the 6-hole diatonic scale. Unlike Native flutes which are tuned to minor scales, Spirit Flutes are all tuned to major scales. Where minor scales are meditative and contemplative, major scales are more uplifting and joyous.
The inlayed stone on each flute is hematite. It is a relatively hard iron crystal that is known to provide a grounding energy that allows one to feel self-confident and secure in all environments.
The Spirit Flute in the key of "C" is 15.25" long.
The Spirit Flute in the key of "D" is 14" long.
