Using and Endorsing High Spirits Flutes -
I have searched far and wide for quality flutes, that I can play and use (mostly personal) but also for others. Now, I have found such a source and I thank you. I purchased my "Golden Eagle" last summer at an Art and Wine Festival in Sunnyvale, Ca. Since then, I have played for myself and a few others. I am a novice, but I believe I have found a long, lost friend in this flute. I can play, improvise and arouse those who want to listen. I find a sense of peace with my flutes, a sense of being and though I am not an acomplished flautist, with your instrument(s), I am learning. The flutes, they are rich in heritage and the notes are pure and true. This is something not normally found. Keep up the good work. Bill I purchased the Sparrow Hawk Flute through Cherokee Trading Post. As I unpackaged it, the beauty jumped out, not only in looks but in the sound that I created as I attempted to play. It was almost like the flute pulled the wind out - it was such an easy flute to play. I am a rank beginner but it creates such a sweet sound. I purchased a handmade cedar flute at one of our Pow-Wow's a few years ago and I was immediately hooked! After listening to artists such as R. Carlos Nakai and Douglas Spotted Eagle, I couldn't get the haunting yet soothing sounds out of my mind. I am a Mohegan Native from Connecticut and I have played guitar for years, but no instrument has allowed me the type of intimate self expression like the Native American Flute. I love the sound quality and warmth of your medicine flute and I intend to bring it to our Pow-Wow's and my place of employment. I work as a Police Officer and I must say, working midnight shift can be taxing mentally and physically. Thankfully, when things do slow down, there is nothing that gets me "centered" again like playing my flute to the peaceful stars. I've never played an instrument before, but the Native Flute sound, to me, is quite moving, so I splurged. I do a lot of traveling as an international English Teacher to various countries in the orient, and I've heard many wonderful asian flutes before, and people have often asked me about the American Indian Type of flutes, and now I can practice and I can show them it first hand! I called the students who had ordered flutes and met them at school. I wish you could have seen their faces as each one picked out the flute that was the "best in the bunch". I thought it was excellent. I wouldn't change a thing. You covered every point and question I had concerning the flute. It was as if you had read my mind and anticipated every question and concern I would have regarding the instrument. You also explained things in a gentle and understandable way that was easy for me (and probably other beginners) to understand. As frustrating as beginning anything new can be, the simplicity of your video is greatly appreciated. If I were a movie critic, I'd give it a "10". Mark I recently purchased a Golden Eagle flute while on vacation in Estes Park, Colorado. I have been a fan of the Native American flute for several years, but never thought of owning one until I saw a display of cedar flutes in the Cabin Fever shop in Estes Park. The owner of the shop invited me to try one, and I was hooked. I purchased one of your Golden Eagle models and was playing in no time at all. It is really as easy as you proclaim in your tape. Ron
